Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking for a rewarding role? Teaching Personnel is pleased to present a full-time position for a Science Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Levenshulme. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As a Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students across a range of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, and physics. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing Science lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, ensuring that all students develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts, practical skills, and investigative abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons covering key topics in biology, chemistry, and physics, incorporating practical experiments, demonstrations, and interactive activities to enhance students' learning experiences.

• Practical Science: Lead hands-on practical sessions in the laboratory, guiding students in conducting experiments, collecting data, and analysing results, while promoting safe laboratory practices and scientific inquiry.

• Scientific Inquiry: Foster students' curiosity and critical thinking skills by encouraging them to ask questions, formulate hypotheses, and design investigations to explore scientific phenomena and solve real-world problems.

• Cross-Curricular Links: Explore interdisciplinary connections between science and other subjects, such as mathematics, technology, and environmental studies, to provide students with a holistic understanding of scientific principles and their applications.

• Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.

• Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment in the classroom and laboratory, implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote respect, engagement, and participation.

• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Science (biology, chemistry, physics).

• Strong subject knowledge across all three scientific disciplines, including practical laboratory skills and theoretical understanding.

• Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.

• Enthusiasm for science education and a passion for inspiring students' curiosity and enthusiasm for the natural world.

• Commitment to promoting scientific literacy, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry skills among students.
